Hill Aviation, Inc. has had the privilege of doing several custom
installations of the HKS 700E. We are proud to acknowledge that we
were the first company to apply many of these installations to several
applications. Our firsts include the Challengers 2, the Kitfox Model
1, Kitfox Model 3, Rans S4, Rans S6ES, Rans S7, and T Bird.
As a
full service dealer, we are committed to helping our customers before,
during, and after a sale. We help our customers by giving them what
information we can to help them make their decision whether an HKS is
right for them. We will answer your questions honestly. If your
airplane is not among those models that have previously had an HKS
installed, then we can design and fabricate a mount to fit an HKS to
your application. We can install your new engine for you, or we will
give you full step-by-step support as you install your own
application. We also service and overhaul the HKS 700E as it is
required.

Challenger II Long
Wing
We
are reporting a cruise speed on the HKS/Challenger is 75 mph at 5400
rpm. The climb rate is 500 feet per minute, with a fuel burn of 2.5
gals. Per hour at 5400 rpm. There is a IVO three blade propeller
being used on the HKS/Challenger.
Rans S-4
The Rans S-4 is a
beautiful installation. Cruise is between 75 and 80 mph with the rpm
at 5400. A 68” IVO two blade propeller was used with this
installation but you could use Warp Drive or Power-Fin propellers.
Rans S-7
The
Rans S-7 has a cruise of 70 to 75 mph at 5400 rpm. The rate of climb
is estimated at 500 feet per minute. These numbers where taken with a
72” Power Fin propeller.
T-Bird II
We
installed an HKS 700E on a older model T-bird II. The cruise is
comparable with the Rotax 582 with the HKS 700E it has a cruise of 60
to 65 mph at a rpm of 5200. This installation is using a 70” Warp
Drive propeller.
